Dirt Bike Rentals Near St. George, Hurricane, and Zion

Late-model bikes, fully serviced, picked up in Apple Valley, Utah.

AlpMX Adventures rents late-model dirt bikes out of Apple Valley, Utah, which puts you within easy reach of Sand Hollow, Warner Valley, Gooseberry Mesa, and the trail systems around St. George, Hurricane, and Zion National Park. Every bike is serviced between rentals and goes out trail-ready, so the only thing you have to plan is where you want to ride.

Which bike should you rent?

This is the question we get most, and the honest answer depends on how much time you have spent on two wheels rather than how brave you feel on the day.

If you have never ridden, start on a Honda CRF125F. It is a lightweight 125cc four-stroke suitable for youth riders aged roughly ten and up as well as adults who want something forgiving. The Honda CRF250F is the next step: still a smooth, predictable four-stroke, but with enough power to keep an all-day desert ride interesting. Between them these two cover most first-time and intermediate riders.

If you already ride, the two-strokes are where the fun is. The GASGAS EX250 is light and responsive and comes alive on technical trail. The Husqvarna TC250 is a high-revving motocross bike on premium WP suspension, equally happy on tight trail and open desert. The KTM 300SX is the most aggressive machine we rent and is meant for experienced riders only.

Not sure which end of that range you belong on? Call us at (385) 236-8086 before you book and we will point you at the right bike rather than letting you guess.

Prefer no clutch and no gas?

We also rent electric. The Sur-Ron Light Bee X weighs around 120 lb, has no clutch and no gears, and runs multiple power modes so a first-timer can keep it mellow while a stronger rider unlocks the full punch. The Rawr Mantis Mini is smaller again, with a low seat height that suits newer and younger riders. Both are quiet enough for shared trails.

Riding gear, if you did not bring your own

Helmets, moto boots and a pants-and-jersey set can be added to the same booking, individually or as a discounted gear bundle. Boots and helmets go quickly on busy weekends, so add them when you reserve the bike rather than on the day.

Where people ride

Sand Hollow is the best-known destination and mixes red sand, slickrock and open dunes. Warner Valley is quieter and good for building confidence without an audience. Gooseberry Mesa is a favourite for technical riding with a view. All three are a straightforward morning drive from the shop, and most groups are on the trail before the day heats up.

What it costs

Day rates currently run from about $140 for the CRF125F up to $275 for the KTM 300SX, with the electric bikes available half-day as well as full-day. A refundable deposit hold applies per bike. Exact pricing for your dates, including gear and any extras, is shown before you pay — pick your dates above to see live availability and totals.

Getting the bikes to the trail

If you do not have a way to haul bikes, we rent a dirt bike trailer that can be added to the same reservation. It is worth booking early on busy weekends, since we only keep a couple.

Booking and groups

Pick your dates first and the site shows exactly which bikes are free on those days, so you can put a whole group on machines in one booking instead of trading phone calls. Riding gear and trailers are added to the same reservation from our Gear and Extras page.

Bikes book out fastest on spring and fall weekends, when Southern Utah riding weather is at its best. If your dates are fixed, reserve early.

Where you will be riding

Area guides: Sand Hollow for sand and slickrock, Hurricane if that is where you are staying, St. George for distances and logistics, and near Zion for what is and is not allowed inside the park. New to riding? Read beginner rentals first. Rates are on the prices page.

Two more destination rides worth knowing: Gooseberry Mesa for technical slickrock and cooler air at 5,200 feet, and Toquerville Falls for five miles of rough road ending at a waterfall you can swim in.
